America’s Markus Schulz takes time out from his ridiculously busy schedule to deliver ‘Scream 2’, and boasting a mighty seventeen tracks, this really showcases his style well of being varied, but proves he knows not only a decent production, but the studio really well. From the offset on the 75 minute opus, opener ‘Reloaded’ goes straight for the jugular and from there the journey continues.
With haunting synths and masterful production throughout, ‘Scream 2’ is definitely consistent with what we’ve come to expect from Markus’s high profile history and does not disappoint. High points have to be ‘Fireworks’ with Klauss Goulart, and album closer ‘Towards The Sun’, and although it was quite a surprise to see long standing house vocalist CeCe Peniston contribute on ‘Make You Fall’, the results there were wonderful too.
Although consistent in production quality, I did think some of the tracks were a little on the filler side, but there are definitely a few stand out productions that you know will be played by every big name in the trance scene and this release should ensure you keep hearing Markus’s name in 2015.
